The word tennis actually comes from the French word tenez meaning to hold or to keep. Early French players were known to start a game by yelling "tenez!" The English soon morphed this into tennis.
Morzine and the surrounding resorts offer many court options for the tennis enthusiast. Rental equipment is available in most places and more often than not, court shoes are obligatory. (white soles)
