The closest climbing to Morzine would be the cliffs of Rocher de la Chaux in the Bas-Thex hamlet near St. Jean d'Aulps. Rocher de la Chaux has about 80 routes ranging from grade 3 to 7. For more information, contact the Morzine guiding office.

Via Ferrata
These "Iron Roads" were first developed by the Italian Army in WWI. Via Ferrata was created to access the inaccessible and has become a great sport for those looking to gain some vertical in a thrilling yet secure manner.
Guides will supply all needed equipment : harness, helmet, clips. Wear lots of sunscreen and bring water as climbs are often exposed.
The Saix du Tour in Morzine Avoriaz is close by and worth a trip. Beginner via ferrata enthusiasts, bring a guide. The trail is marked as difficult and takes about 2 - 3 hours to complete the 600m route. The route is open daily in the summer time. Check the weather before heading out!
